I enjoyed my student life at Carnegie Mellon. It was so much fun studying with people from diverse culture and making new friends. This kind of diversity gave me an exposure to different cultures and apart from my course knowledge I learnt this in addition. I think students from India work a lot so I need not advice new students to be prepared for this, but do enjoy whatever you do in life ins my philosophy.
I did my UG here and stayed on to do my MS. There was no visa requirement for me.
My departmental program is in the top 10 in US. So the courses are challenging. There are four courses in each semester and MS is only course based. However students can opt for independent study for credits. The number of lecture hours varies with courses but on an average 40 hours per week of studies. There is funding for MS for international students. The people here are very friendly and gel well with others.
The facilities here are like any other college in the US. There is everything you want. Scope for part time employment on campus exists. Cities like Philadelphia, DC are close by and nice places to see.
There are on campus fairs where companies come for hiring. Alumni help with placements too.
Located in Pennsylvania.
